Red Shoe Design is the brainchild of Jennifer Shontz.
After earning degrees in painting and English at the University of Kansas
(and purchasing her first pair of red shoes), Jennifer updated her skills
with computer graphics training at the Art Institute of Seattle and the
School of Visual Concepts, Seattle. Since 1992 she has focused her design
and management skills in the following arenas: book and magazine publication,
branding and corporate identity, greeting card and CD design.

As a child, Jennifer needed to wear black corrective
shoes. She vowed to avenge this misfortune by promoting pizazz (albeit
in a sensible manner that would do her Midwestern roots proud). Clicking
her heels together 3 times, she left Kansas and spent the next 4 years
in Japan teaching English and singing/playing keyboard in a rock band.
After a short stint in the Bay Area, in 1985 she landed in the Center
of the Universe, Seattle. Her odyssey has led from painting to performance
art, costume design, massage therapy, photography, video direction, mixed-media
sculpture, and publishing. At Red Shoe Design, this eclectic mix of interests
and talents is brought to the drawing board for a unique approach to each
design project.
